As you can see in the Cypher the word NANCY = 57 in the most pure cypher. You will notice that the word “NANCY” is going to come up multiple times in this timeline. Consider that the word “NANCY” has been planted in this narrative as a “code word”. The code word might mean “5/7”. “5/7” might mean 5&7 - 5 being short for “85” because 85 divided by 17 = 5. And 7 because 119 divided by 17 = 8. So, does Nancy mean “85/119”? As you go through the timeline you will see the numbers 85 and 119 popping up. I believe the reason why they were planted in this story is so that when we see them mentioned in this story we know to not believe the story’s with the numbers in them. You might be asking why 17 matters? We will get there.

You will see the number 119 coded into this story over and over again. When you see the number I think you will have to agree that it has been put there to give you a “sign” that the particular story you are finding it in is not to be believed. Also notice that “Gilbert” is [116] - the inversion of 119. I think you will find that many times (if not always) they give you at least two witnesses like “yes, you are seeing a sign here” so, believe this story at your own risk!

The birthdate “June 22, 1793” equals “92” in the purest cypher where A = 1 and Z = 26.

92 is simple way to say 9II or 9/11. It’s a simple way to say “I’m a Freemason” without saying it - the square being set to 90 (0’s are zero) so “9” and the compass being set to 47 and 4+7 equaling “11” therefore 9/11 or “92”.

223 is the same as 322 - the number of Skull and Bones.

119 is like saying 11th of September

116 is simply an upside-down 911.

This guy is a Powerhouse! I’m just going to state some facts:

Think of it like 17 times infinity = 561 the number of EXACT months Edward lived! •The days (counting the day of death) between Edward Partridges death and Joseph & Hyrums death is 1493 days. 1493 is the 238th Prime number. I’m trying to understand what 238 means. 17 x 14 = 238. 17 = 8 and 14 = 5 —> 85 - Lewis Crum Bidamon’s (Joseph’s) age when he died… •The days (not counting the day of death) between Edward Partridge and Joseph & Hyrums death is 1492 days or 49 months another number that has to do with the “year of jubilee”. Think “Columbus” - one of the greatest “proclaimed” members of freemasonry and the number 1492. •The number of Days between Edward Partridges BIRTH and Joseph and Hyrums DEATHS (when you include the day of death) is 18,567 days OR 610 months, 1 day. 610 months 1 day = 611!

I haven’t found much on him, other than his birth death and death (119 days before Old New Year’s Day).

How is Feb, 9th a 119? It absolutely is. Roman numeral “2” look like 11. You will see that the number “29” is used on multiple occasions through this narrative. For instance on 9/11 of 1845 “29” homes were burnt down during that false flag. Hyrum being born on “29” is a sign no different than Lewis Bidamon being born on a “116”, no different than Joseph Smith III bring born on a “116” and countless other characters in this story. We should also be seeing “92” through this story. For instance Hyrum was born on “the 9th of February” that is a 92. 92/29 are the same thing just like 911/119/116/611..

June 1, 1801 = 6/1/1+8+0+1 = 6/1/10 = [611]

Note: Also notice that Brigham and Brigham Young is 58 in two cyphers which is the inverse of 85 - the age Joseph prophecied that if he lived to - he would see the face of the Lord.

The only Smithfield I could find in Jefferson County is in Ohio and I think that may be the correct town.

Note: Emma was born on the 7th month and the 10th day. 7 + 10 = 17. 17 is the most holy number to the followers of Osiris which group is believed to run the world. That does not mean Emma is part. There is a war for good and evil over the ownership of the numbers.

92 is code for 9/11. 9/11 is code for 90/47. 90 is the degrees of the square and 47 the degrees the compass is set at. 90 = 9, 47= 11, 911 or 92.

8/3 of 1805 or [83] is another interesting number they chose to assign as his birthdate. It is the number of “fake murder”.

October 3 = 83 83 appears to be another way of saying 911. Imagine “8III” and you just take a “I” and add it to the “8” making a “9II”..

Joseph Smith's birthday equals “92” in the most pure cypher where A = 1 and Z = 26. You will learn the meaning of the number 92 and 29 soon. I promise it will make sense.

12/23 - 12+2+3 = 17..

JOSEPH SMITH BIRTHPLACE MEMORIAL The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints purchased the Solomon Mack farm and some additional acreage in 1905. The purchase was made for the Church by Junius F. Wells. He likely originated the idea of commemorating the Prophet’s birth at Sharon with a large monument. After approval from the First Presidency, Wells directed the erection of a granite monument (similar to Washington monument) Memorial Cottage at the site. Did the US military erected this monument for Lieutenant General Joseph Smith? The monument stands 50 feet tall just like the one for George Washington. (see diagram)

WASHINGTON BIRTHPLACE MEMORIAL In 1896, just eleven years after the completion of the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C., the United States War Department placed an obelisk as a monument at the site thought to be George Washington's birthhouse. The monument stood 50 feet tall, almost exactly 1/10th the size of the one in Washington D.C. To protect the monument, it was surrounded by an iron ornamental fence and a gate.

1+16 = 17…

Born on 1/16 like 116 pages of the Book of Mormon, like 11/6/ when Joseph Smith III was born, like 9/11/1846 “battle of Nauvoo” (911 is a 116 flipped upside down) like the 9/11 Morley massacre of 1845 9/11 Mountain meadows massacre of 1857 Graves of Joseph, Hyrum & Emma were “located” on 1/16 of 1928. Lewis' grave was never marked until recently, 8/3 of 2016. The meaning of the number 38 & 83 will be discussed later in the timeline.

17 is the Most holy number to those who revere Osiris. Jan 1 + 17 = 1/18 or 118. It is also interesting that 8/11 is day 223 of the year. 223 is the reverse of 322 (Skull and Bones). The reverse of 811 being 118. So is 118 another way of saying Skull and Bones?

When you can’t be born “in” or “on” 2/23 or 3/22 and you may be a member of Skull and Bones - tell people you were born in “Campbell County Kentucky”…it equals 322 in the second most pure cypher and it’s also 3 words and 22 letters! Cheers!

The first number you learn about William Clayton is WHERE he was born before WHEN he was born and he was born in Penwortham, Lancashire which equals 223 the reverse of 322 - which reminds a person of Skull and Bones. Was he a “Master Scribe”? I have attached multiple screenshots of some Wikipedia pages I attempted to decode. He appears to prefer to use the rare cyphers as you can see.

March 25th is the 83rd day of the year. We will discuss the significance of the number 38/83 which I (and others in the gematria community) believe has to do with fake murder or faking your death later. Remember that just because an event takes place on a date does not make it inherently evil. There is a war between good and evil for Gods numbers.

March 25th was practiced as the first day of the year in America until 1752. I think there may be more to why he was born on the first day of the year on the old calendar system.

“The Bidamons lived in Smithfield until 1816 when Dedrich sold his property and moved to Highland County, Ohio. Dedrich purchased 110 acres of land (Note: 110 is probably part of a 119 or 116 that Edward A. Luce did not copy down) in Highland County in February 1819. At that time the family consisted of Brothers, John Crane, Lewis, Christian, and Frederick and sisters Rosanna, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Nancy. Dedrich remained in Highland County, first, in the Hillsboro area and later in the Marshall area. Mary died in Marshall on April 20, 1839, and is buried in the Methodist church cemetery. Notice how this history placed John Bidamon as an older brother to Lewis un like the modern versions.

Notice that Lewis has a sister named NANCY..

I might mention that The Angel Moroni visited Joseph the very next day which is also 911 days if you don’t “include” the start day. See image.

“Old New Years Day” is March 25th. The Calendar was changed in 1752 by Great Britain when George Washington was 20 years old. Freemasons and other societies continued to use secret combinations of numbers based off of the old calendar. As time went on it became harder and harder to detect..

Jan 1st plus 322 days equals the day Alivin died - November 19th, 1823. See image.

You will see throughout this narrative that there are multiple curious events taking place on 11/19’s - the 322nd day of the year. It does remind me of the Secret Society Skull and Bones 322..

Peter H Burnett, October 1838 (age 33): "Joseph Smith, Jr., was a very stout, athletic man, and was a skillful wrestler. He was at least 6 feet high, well formed, and weighed about 180 pounds. His appearance was not prepossessing, and his conversational powers were but ordinary…, there was a kind, familiar look about him, that pleased you."

Millennial Star, 1842 (age 36): "JOSEPH SMITH, the president of the church, prophet, seer, and revelator, is 36 years of age, 6 feet high and pumps, weighing two hundred and twelve pounds..."

Governor Thomas Ford, 1844 (age 38): "He was full 6 feet high, strongly built, and uncommonly well muscled."

Jane James, the Smith's house maid 1839-44 (age 38): "I could not begin to tell you what he was, only this way, he was tall, over six feet; he was a fine, big, noble, beautiful man! He had blue eyes and light hair, and very fine white skin."

John Smith, was 12 years old when the prophet was martyred, 1844 (age 38): "the prophet, Joseph stood even 6 feet high in his stocking feet, and weighed 212 pounds."

Samuel W. Richards, 1844 (age 38): "In his mature years, he stood a full 6 feet tall without shoes and weighed 200 pounds."

Lots to consider here. As you can see Parley Pratt was baptized on a day which comes to “116” in the most purest cypher - where A = 1 and Z = 26.

Remember that 119 is 911. It’s like the 11th of September VS September 11th..

Think “TWIN TOWERS” on 9/11.

There is very little known about Ziba. He is an important piece to this story as you will see. Ziba = 38 (the number many researchers believe to be associated with fake murder or staged murder) a number that you will see through this story as well. 38 or 83 are the same thing.

[322] It’s important to note that they mention May 7th as the day it was bringing to be organized. Depending on if it’s a keep year it will sometimes fall on May 8th but they got it spot on in this post as May 7th. May 7th 1834 was the day that 322 (Skull and Bones) days remained until “Old New Years Day” - March 25th 1835. The Cabal uses these dates. Think of them like their “holy days”. This does not mean Joseph was part of the Cabal. There is a war for Gods numbers.

When you see 116 AND 322 is it’s placed there for you to discern if you believe it or not?

This is of note because Lewis Crum Bidamon was Called “Major” his whole life. It does remind you of Indians Jones (who was originally going to be called Indiana Smith) naming himself after his dog..

Orson Hyde (before he is called as a apostle) marries Marinda Nancy Johnson, in Kirtland, Ohio, on September 4, 1834 which is the exact day there are only 119 days left in the year.

Remember that NANCY = 57 which is short for 85/119.

“Orson ultimately took (eight) wives and fathered (32) children.” (85)

On February 14, 1835 a meeting was held in Kirtland, Ohio to ordain the newly called Quorum of the Twelve Apostles who had previously been selected by the three witnesses. Smith was the first speaker at the meeting, and made a stunning declaration “the coming of the Lord, which was nigh, even fifty six years, should wind up the scene.” In other words, Christ should come sometime around February 1891. Lewis Crum Bidamon was laid to rest EXACTLY 56 years TO THE DAY fulfilling the Valentine’s Day prophecy of 1835! See also D&C 130:12-17

Huntington, Autobiography II: 129 : “On the 14th of Feb. 1835, Joseph Smith said that “God had revealed to him that the coming of Christ would be within 56 years,” which being added to 1835 shows that before 1891 and the 14th of Feb. “the Saviour of the world would make his appearance again upon the earth and the winding up scene take place.” In connection with this event, was related by my brother Dimick Huntington, the fact that when Joseph and Hyrum Smith submitted in their feelings to consent to give themselves up to the state mob at Nauvoo Illinois, after they had passed the Mississippi River. Joseph said "if they shed my blood it shall shorten this work 10 years.” That taken from Feb 14, 1891 would reduce the time to February 14, 1881 which if the true time within which the Savior should come much must be crowded into 6 years. They did not “shed his blood” which keeps the date at EXACTLY February 14, 1891.

DECember like decimal system - meaning ten. December used to be the 10th month.. December 16 is a 116..

This was “purported” to have been said on 1/16. When you see a 116 you should really question why it is there.

Apostle John F. Boynton Was excommunicated December 3, 1837. December 3rd leaves 29 days in the year. December 3rd is 83 days after 9/11 December 3rd leaves 3 months 22 days in the year -before March 25th - the Old New Years Day (before 1752).

I’ll mention here that he was ordained an Apostle on Feb 15, 1835 which is 38 days before March 25th - “Old New Years Day”..

December 19, 1838 Dec was originally the “10th month” like the “DEC-imal” system. 10/19, = 119 and then 1838 (1+8 & 3+8) 9 & 11, 119, 911

DECember used to be the “10th month” hence DEC like decimal system - so December 19 is a 119.

John married Lorain Stevens on December 26 of that year Which is the day you get when you subtract - 11 months 6 days [116] from January 1st.

Why is this important? There are multiple reasons why it seems that Don Carlos Smith faked his death and became William Pickett WHO WAS ALSO IN THE NEWSPAPER BUSINESS!

Don Carlos was in the newspaper business. Turns out that William Pickett was also in the newspaper business. He was the “foreman of the St. Louis Republican” in 1846..

On his trip to Washington, D. C., And during his stay in Philadelphia, which was late 1839, and into 1840, Joseph weighed about 180 pounds and was just released from liberty jail having been fed so poorly there. John Reynolds wrote “Smith, the prophet, remained in Washington, a great part of the winter, and preached often in the city. I became well acquainted with him. He was a person, rather larger than ordinary stature, well proportioned, and would weigh, I presume, about one hundred and eighty pounds.” if this photo is of Joseph, it would probably have been taken by Robert Cornelius on 8th and market Street in Philadelphia. Willard Richards was ordained an Apostle on day that equals “83” in the most pure cypher where A = 1 and Z = 26. 83 is like 8III and is Similar to 9II. It is code for 119. Later we learn that the Man who replaces Don Carlos - William Pickett is both a newspaper man like Don Carlos AND and attorney. After his “scene was rapped up” did he end up getting a new name “William Pickett” through the military and go to get his degree in Law? This is where we need to focus. Where did William Pickett go to school and more importantly WHEN?! Remember he exits the scene (dies) in the second half of 1841 and does not re-enter the scene until roughly 4 years later in 1845/46 during the early stages of “the battle of Nauvoo”.

Also it is important to note that Don Carlos Smith was a father of 3 children. Agnes his widow will be a mother with at least two children. Honestly how likely is it that Agnes Smith will shortly “pull” William Pickett - the foreman of The st. Louis Republican Newspaper as a husband. As far as I can tell he also had no children of his own. This story has holes all over it. Some more questions we should be researching is how tall this future husband William is because Don Carlos is said to be 6 feet 4 inches tall! A man with a very unique height similar to Abraham Lincoln in stature! There will be tons more on this William Picket to come!

I’ve uploaded a decoded image of the history of William Clayton arriving in America and moving to Nauvoo. It is jam packed full of 29’s, 92’s, 83’s, 38’s and 116. All these numbers are proxy for 911 which is the simplest expression of freemasonry. I’ll explain. 9 comes from the square which is 90 degrees but 0’s = nothing so “9”. The compass is set to 47 degrees and 4+7 = “11” - so “9” “11” - 911. 29/92 = 9II 38/83 = 92 = 9II 116 = upside down 911

You can see that the Murder takes place on May 6, 1842. What we learn in these 3 newspaper screenshots that are all fairly contemporary to the event (about 2-3 weeks from the event) is that the Governor is shot in the head and two of the balls entered his brain. So in fact he should be dead but he didn’t die. That’s the first sign that you should not believe this story. Second important fact is that the event took place after 6pm which actually places the event (on the Jewish time keeping system) to have happened on the May 7th. You have to pay attention of WHEN these events take place in the day. This event took place between 7 and 8 at night. The Jewish day starts at approximately sundown. This is another way they hide secret combinations of words numbers and letters. As you can see in the last image May 7th is 322 days before “Old New Years Day”. 322 reminds a person of Skull and Bones 322..

The first number you learn in this ridiculous story is 116 associated with Thomas’s baptism date. The second number is code for 223 - the date of his wife’s (haven’t been able to find her name) baptism. If you believe this story I don’t know what to say to you.

I’ve attached an image from Joseph III Memoirs Pages 35,36 related which appears to support the concept that Joseph Smith Jr was in the US military. It’s related to General Doniphan appearing to take orders from Joseph and making sure Porter Rockwell was tried in the “Proper” tribunal (military tribunal?)

[116?] Bodies were buried side by side at the mansion and a bee-house was placed over their grave as a marker.

Not sure where this date 10/15 came from. Was probably 10/16..

In a council meeting held by Brigham Young in the Temple, in January 1846, John S. Fullmer was appointed as one of the five Trustees-in-Trust to care for and dispose of Church property after the Saints had departed Nauvoo. Almon W. Babbitt, Joseph L. Heywood, John S. Fullmer, Henry W. Miller, and John M. Bernhisel received letters of attorney authorizing them to act legally for the Church. (Need exact date in January)

John E Page was removed from the Quorum of the Twelve on February 9, 1846 which happens to be exactly “1 month, 16 days” [116] before March 25th (the old New Year’s Day) before 1752 AD. February 9th is also clearly a [29] Basically think about it like this. If you get removed from the church on a special day like a 116 or a 92 - it’s like a proof that you served your secret society well. If you get removed on a date which has no correlation you had a falling out and they get rid of you on a day that does not give you “honor” to the “brethren” of the secret society.

William Pickett (believed to be the “deceased” Don Carlos Smith) excited an otherwise compliant and peaceful group of Mormons into open war that would lead to their speedy removals from the city. William Pickett is the Foreman of the St Louise Republican Newspaper but no mention of that here. Remember - Don Carlos Smith was the owner of The Times and Seasons newspaper. This appears to be a divide and conquer move by “Captain” William Pickett helping to get these Mormons where the military wants them - in the middle of the Rocky Mountains.

In Major M’Calla’s possession was a recognized gun. William Pickett takes the gun to return it to owner. A warrant is issued to arrest William Pickett for stealing the gun. (see image) Rise and Fall of Nauvoo pages 359, 360.

All this created that kind of excitement that must end in something serious where no law is in force. But it will be observed that it became necessary, after the resignation of the committee, that a new issue should be formed; and these difficulties presented a most favorable opportunity. When Major McCalla was apprehended, as already stated, a singular stocked rifle was found in his possession, which William Pickett and others instantly recognized as one that had been taken from those harvest men by these land pirates, of whom the prisoner was one. Of course they took possession of the rifle and carried it away; and this is the theft which was alleged against William Pickett, in a warrant, which John Carlin, an especial officer, had to serve on him (as will be seen in the course of this narrative), and which Pickett resisted. Pickett had made himself somewhat conspicuous in these little campaigns; and he was marked by the mob. It was told him that this warrant was got up to get him into the hands of the mob, and that they intended to waylay him and kill him; whether this was well or ill founded, is, of course, not known; but he did go privately, after resisting the officer, and deliver himself up to the magistrate at Green Plains, who issued the warrant, but the magistrate had no record of it, and refused to try him. This all occurred in the presence of several new citizens, who accompanied him as a body guard. Pickett returned, therefore, the same night, in safety. And now, the people of Nauvoo, "Mormons" and new citizens, denounced the demands, and disregarded the clamor of John Carlin, the special constable; it being now evident, that this was only a pretext to get up an excitement.

About this day Wandle Mace writes of William picket.

“The officers came to Nauvoo with the writs and served several. William Pickitt, a man who knew no fear, learned that the officers had a writ for him. Seeing them enter a store where he was sitting, he instantly arose to his feet, and before they had time to serve the writ on him, he drew a pistol and said, he "Hoped God would strike him dead, if he didn't shoot the man that said writ to him."

What I get out of this is that William Pickett was working against the mormons to help the mob drive them out? Tell me where I’m wrong?

Mormon men in Nauvoo started to train in preparation to defend the city from the mob. Non-Mormon Lewis Bidamon (future husband of Emma Smith) while traveling to Quincy, was intercepted by a leader of the mob who threatened to take him to the anti‑Mormon camp. Bidamon was freed and in the evening left for Springfield to take some dispatches to the governor.

We have since our arrival here met, and conversed with a number of the leading men of the town, who without exception have treated us with much courtesy and respect, and seem to be greatly interested in our people. Among those we will make special mention of our host, Major L. C. Bidamon (husband of the late Emma Smith (widow of the Prophet Joseph). He is a remarkably well preserved man, now nearly 83 years old, and withal sociable and agreeable, and his manners, being somewhat inclined to be witty. We asked him a number of questions in regard to his experience among the Saints in the time of the troubles in 1846, which he answered in a straight-for-ward manner, and at times spoke with considerable emotion. His narrative ran as follows:

“ I am a Virginian by birth, removed to Ohio with my parents when a boy, and there married, but lost my wife by death, and subsequently removed to Canton, Ohio. When I first arrived in Nauvoo in April, 1846, I found the city menaced by a wicked mob, who, notwithstanding the majority of the Mormons, had already gone into the wilderness, were relentless in their persecution of the few who remained behind. I was soon convinced that the Mormons were a much abused people, and as I have always felt inclined to stand up for justice and right at all times, and under all circumstances, it was not long before my sympathies were with the Saints. I watched the doings of the mob with a keen eye, and felt indignant when I witnessed how illegal and vexatious lawsuits were gotten up, based upon trumped up charges, for the purpose of dragging defendants twenty or thirty miles into out-of-the-way places in order to waylay them, and often for the purpose of whipping and murdering them. And when they, in some instances, refused to go, knowing the object was to kill them, the mobbers set up a great hue and cry that the Mormons disobeyed the law. I was finally appointed a trustee on the part of the “New Citizens’ to negotiate with the mobbers for peace, and was also sent to Governor Ford to lay our grievances before that official. At first, he refused to listen to me, and swore that he would not spend another dollar in the interest of Hancock County, having already had so much trouble with the people there. I knew, however, that our cause was just, and becoming indignant at the governors actions, I threatened that if he would not do his duty in the matter, I would appeal to the President of the United States. Seeing that I was in earnest, he at last listened to what I had to say, and agreed to send Major Parker with me back to Nauvoo with a posse of 12 men, which were to serve as a guard to protect those upon whom writs might be served in the future. The mob, however, would not recognize Parkers authority, and swore by all the devils and saints they could think of, that they would do as they d—d pleased and did not care for the governor, nor anybody else; not even Jesus Christ, if He would dare to say a good word for the Mormons.

“Some time afterwords I was sent to Springfield a second time to see the governor. I started down the river in a small rowboat, and the mobbers learning of my departure started in pursuit, crossed the river from Warsaw, and surrounded the house in which I had intended to stop for the night, at Churchville (near Alexandria, Mo.). There were 12 or 15 of them. They came in and asked me how I would like to go with them to Mr. Brockman‘s camp. I answered that I should not like it at all, as I was fully aware that his men were not favorably disposed toward me. ‘But, by G—d,’ said that they, ‘you will go,’ and they made a move, as if they wanted to take me by force. Quick, as thought, I had my hand on my pistol, which, in the next instant, I held cocked in their faces, while I halloed out, ‘Stand back there, or I will blow daylight through you.’ The way these mobbers made for the door and scattered in all directions was a caution. Ordering my two men, whom I had engaged to row down the river, to get the boat ready, I retreated with pistol in hand, got in the boat, pulled to the middle of the stream where the balls of the mobbers could not reach us, and arrived at Quincy in safety. From the latter place, I continued the journey by stage to Springfield. While stopping at Mount Sterling a few hours, I was surrounded by the inhabitants, who were very curious to know all about the situation at Nauvoo. I made such explanations as I thought proper, and after I was through, a hard looking individual, with dark features, came up to me and said he was a captain in singleton’s militia, and was going to Nauvoo the next day. All at once it came to me that I should play the mobbers a trick, in order to avert the immediate danger which threatened Nauvoo, and keep the mob off until I had seen the governor. I asked the fellow if he would carry a letter for me to my brother in Nauvoo. He said he would on conditions that I would let him know the contents of it. This I agreed to do. I then wrote a few lines, in which I pretended to advise the citizens of Nauvoo to refrain from shedding blood, if possible; ‘for,’ wrote I, ‘It would be an easy matter for you, with your hell acres and hell half acres to destroy the whole mob force at once.’ “‘What do you mean by hell acres and hell half acres?’ Demanded the man. “‘Oh, I don’t like to tell you that,’ said I. “‘Then by G-d,’ ejaculated, he, ‘ I will not carry your letter.’ “‘Very well,’ said I, ‘ provided you can keep a secret, I will explain to you.’ He thought he could, and I then proceeded to tell him that every approach to Nauvoo was undermined and large quantities of powder deposited in such a manner that by the pulling of certain wires, mechanically arranged, it could be exploded at will. Of course, there was not a word of truth in that, but he drank it all in and went immediately to the mob camp, where the letter was read. It had the desired effect. The mob, although quite strong enough to have taken Nauvoo at once, concluded to wait for reinforcements, which gave me time to return from my visit to the governor, before the final attack was made. “The governor returned me with orders to Major Flood, of Quincy, for him, to proceed to Nauvoo and assist in adjusting the difficulties between the Mormons and the mob. That gentleman was at first, unwilling to go, but finally concluded to do so, taking with him a number of other leading men of Quincy. When we arrived at Montrose, we could distinctly hear the cannonading on the prairie east of Nauvoo, and having crossed the river, I sent the Quincy delegation in my carriage out to the mob camp. These gentlemen tried their best to establish peace between the fighting parties, but all in vain; all they succeeded in doing was that they induced the mob to promise to cease hostilities until the next day. As the delegation was returning to Nauvoo, several shots were fired at them. I happen to pick up a spent ball. Which I presented to Mr. wood, saying that here was a compliment from the belligerents. At seeing this Mr. Wood became so indignant that he jumped to his feet, exclaiming, ‘Give me a gun, and I will stand by you and see it all through. In all my intercourse with people—and I have dealt even with heathens—I have never, in all my life, seen such infamy among mankind.’ I advised Mr. Wood to keep at a safe distance, and witness what was going on, that he might live to testify of our doings, for we all expected to fight till the last. Mr. Wood, who was a wealthy man, subsequently showed great kindness in a substantial manner toward the afflicted Saints, by sending up large quantities of provisions, partly of his own stock, and partly such as he had influenced others to give. “Previous to this, I, together, with a few other men, was sent to the mob camp at Green Plains with a view to bring about a compromise. On that occasion it became my lot to deliver a speech in defense of the Mormons. Now, I am not a very religious man, and not at all superstitious; in fact, I am inclined to be rather skeptic, but I believe I was inspired on that occasion, to portray the condition of the people in Nauvoo, and to plead in behalf of suffering innocence, for even the feelings of the hardened mobocrat Williams seem to be touched as he listen to me; for I plainly saw tears coursing their way down his guilty cheeks. I told them that the remnant of the Mormons were making preparation’s to get away as fast as possible, and all they asked for was a little more time in which to dispose of their property, and raise means for their journey. And furthermore that some of the heads of families were in the service of the United States, marching toward Mexico, and their families could not conveniently be moved until these soldiers had drawn their pay. I was apparently making a good impression upon the mobbers, when Thomas C. Sharp, the notorious editor of the Warsaw Signal, interrupted me and told me that the war was between the Mormons and the old citizens, and that I had no right to interfere, and further that if we, whom they designated Jack-Mormons, did not stand aloof, we should share the same fate as the Mormons. When I alluded to the sufferings of the women and children, he burst out in terrible rage, saying, after uttering a fearful oath, ‘Drive the women into the river and throw their d—d young ones in after them.’ “It was finally agreed that we should meet at Warsaw the following day and make another attempt at compromising. Here I was asked by Mr. Williams to sign a document to the effect that we would see all the Mormons out of Nauvoo within a reasonable time. This I emphatically refused to do, and said that I would see him in hell a thousand fathoms deep before I would put my signature to such a paper. At last I became so disgusted with him that I invited him to come out into the street for five minutes, and we would then and there settle the matter at once so far as we two were concerned. But he refused to engage in that kind of experience. “When I think of the doings of these fellows, even at this late day, it makes my blood boil within; it was a shame, gentleman, a burning shame, the way your people were treated at that time. “ I returned from Warsaw without affecting any compromise, and our next move was to defend ourselves the best we could. We turned the steamboat shafts into cannon, repaired our small arms, manufactured ammunition, and were determined to sell our lives as dear as possible. The famous battle of Nauvoo is a matter of history. I fought by the side of the gallant Captain Anderson, who fell as one of the noble defenders of human rights, but at last we were forced to capitulate, and so incensed were the mobbers at the active part I had taken in the defense, that they put me and two others on the death list, and threatening to kill us at sight. To avert their murderous intent, I absented myself from Nauvoo for a few months, and did not return until February, 1847. During my absence, the robbers plundered my house, the one I had bought of President Young, carrying away and destroying everything they could get a hold of, including my stock of wagons and house furniture, which were never returned to me, save some of the carpets which I had purchased of the Temple committee. When Governor Ford, in his history of Illinois, says that he was not posted in regard to the crimes enacted by the mob in Nauvoo at that time, he tells a wicked lie, for I visited him twice myself, and told him all about it; and I also know that he was duly informed by others.

“In regards to Joseph Smith, candor, compels me to say that he was a noble man, yes, a nobleman, indeed. I never met his equal in all my life, and I only saw him once, but that occasion I shall never forget. A certain phrenologist had invited me to accompany him to Nauvoo to pay Joseph a visit, the professor desiring to make an examination of his head. We found Joseph walking in the garden; he received us kindly, and soon invited us into the house, where I had a two hours’ conversation with him. His manners, movements and whole deportment made a deep and lasting impression upon me, and convinced me that he was not the imposter and wicked man he had been represented by his enemies to be; to me he appeared to be a good, honest and noble-hearted man, and from all I have ever learned about him since, I have not had occasion to change my opinion about him.”

In answer to further inquiry, the major describe the Prophet, as a very good looking man, with light complexion and light brown hair. He was strongly built and well proportioned, was about six feet high and weighed 200 pounds.

INFANCY OF THECHURCH, LETTER 15. Incidence of the Nauvoo troubles. —Major Bidamon tells an interesting story. ——— NAUVOO, Hancock Co., Illinois, October 7, 1888 Editor Deseret News:

We have since our arrival here met, and conversed with a number of the leading men of the town, who without exception have treated us with much courtesy and respect, and seem to be greatly interested in our people. Among those we will make special mention of our host, Major L. C. Bidamon (husband of the late Emma Smith (widow of the Prophet Joseph). He is a remarkably well preserved man, now nearly 83 years old, and withal sociable and agreeable, and his manners, being somewhat inclined to be witty. We asked him a number of questions in regard to his experience among the Saints in the time of the troubles in 1846, which he answered in a straight-for-ward manner, and at times spoke with considerable emotion. His narrative ran as follows: (listen to audio)

An agreement was reached about this time between Major Parker and Colonel Singleton, the leader of the mob. The Mormons would be given sixty days to get out of the city. In the meantime a force of twenty‑five men from the mob would be stationed in the city. Half of their expenses would be covered by the citizens of Nauvoo. The Mormons were to surrender their arms which would be returned to them when they left the state. As soon as the arms were gathered, the mob would disperse and all hostilities would cease. The two leaders signed this agreement, but the Nauvoo citizens “unanimously rejected” it. This agreement made no mention whatsoever of William Pickett. The mob had been claiming that they were just a posse to arrest Pickett, but their true intentions were shown by this proposed agreement. ~ Saints in the Wilderness David R Crockett

Lewis C Bidamon in 1888 recounts this day to the Deseret News: “Here I was asked by Mr. Williams to sign a document to the effect that we would see all the Mormons out of Nauvoo within a reasonable time [60 days mentioned above]. This I emphatically refused to do, and said that I would see him in hell a thousand fathoms deep before I would put my signature to such a paper. At last I became so disgusted with him that I invited him to come out into the street for five minutes, and we would then and there settle the matter at once so far as we two were concerned. “It was about this time that Emma Smith, the widow of the prophet Joseph, received an anonymous threat that “if she did not move out of the house in three days, it would be burned over her head.” On the third day, Emma put her children to bed on the ground floor where they could make a quick exit. They awoke the next morning safe, but found a pile of charred sticks and leaves against the north side of house. Flames had scorched the siding but the fire had gone out before doing much damage.”

About this day, Mary Fielding Smith, widow of Hyrum, crossed over the river. Her daughter, Martha Ann Smith wrote:

“We left our home just as it was, our furniture, and the fruit trees hanging full of rosy peaches. We bid goodbye to the loved home that reminded us of our beloved father everywhere we turned. I was five years old when we started from Nauvoo. We crossed over the Mississippi in the skiff in the dusk of the evening. We bid goodbye to our dear old feeble grandmother [Lucy Mack Smith]. I can never forget the bitter tears she shed when she bid us goodbye for the last time in this life. She knew it would be the last time she would see her son’s family.”

Mary’s seven-year-old son, and future prophet, Joseph F. Smith, later shared his memories of this difficult day.

“I can remember the time when I was quite a little boy, when we were hurried very unceremoniously across the river Mississippi from the city of Nauvoo just previous to the bombardment of the town by the mob. I had a great anxiety then ‑‑ that is for a child ‑‑ to know where on earth we were going to. I knew we had left home. We had left it willingly ‑‑ because we were obliged to ‑‑ we left it in a hurry, and we were not far away when we heard the cannonade on the other side of the river; but I felt just as certain in my mind then ‑‑ as certain as a child could feel ‑‑ that all was right, that the Lord's hand was in it, as I do to‑day.”

Thomas S. Brockman was appointed by John Carlin to take over the leadership of the mob forces. Governor Ford later described Brockman as “a Campbellite preacher, nominally belonging to the Democratic party, a large, awkward, uncouth, ignorant, semi‑barbarian, ambitious of officer, and bent upon acquiring notoriety.” The mob advanced from Carthage to Nauvoo, under the leadership of Brockman, to what used to be Hyrum Smith’s farm, and started to fire upon the city with three cannons. Many of the women and children fled the city and crossed over the Mississippi River into Iowa. The defenders were organized into three companies under the overall leadership of Colonel Johnson. They met the mob resolutely and soon the mob retreated.

The Saints had been promised reinforcements from the governor’s troops, but none had come. Governor Ford later downplayed the serious nature of this battle by stating that they were more than a half mile apart and “not near enough to do each other material injury.” He numbered the forces of the mob at 800 armed men, 600‑700 unarmed men and the Nauvoo force at 150 fighting men. These brave men stepped forward to defend a city that was mostly inhabited by the sick, widows, orphans, children, and those too poor to leave. The defenders had to rely on their own forces and converted some steamboat shafts into cannons. During the night there was some skirmishing between the forces. Each of the Nauvoo companies built a fort for defense on the north side of Mulholland Street under the command of Andrew L. Lamoreaux. They were complete by 3 a.m. The defenders then began to fire a cannon at the mob’s campfire which caused great confusion in the enemy’s camp. The mob moved their whole force about one and a half miles further to the north, to New LaHarp road. Thomas Bullock later wrote:

. . . the sharp cracking of the rifles kept us in an awful state of suspense and anxiety. Our devoted city was defended by about 150 poor, sickly persecuted Saints, while it was cannonaded by about 1500 to 2000 demoniacs, in the shape of men, who had sworn to raze our temple to the ground, to burn the city, to ravish our wives and our daughters, and drive the remainder into the river. ~ Saints in the Wilderness David R Crockett

This battle earned Lewis the honorary title “The Major”. Temple bell began clanging at 7AM.

During the “Mormon war” in September 1846, Major Bidamon as a messenger from Governor Ford of Illinois, handed major Parker his commission and instructions for recruiting a force and proceeding towards Nauvoo from Canton. This is the first reference to the title “Major“ applied to Bidamon. The origin of the title/commission has not been found. ~ The Bidamon Story by Edward A. Luce

Was Lewis secretly “Major” General Bidamon by taking Major General John C. Bennetts post in the Nauvoo Legion?

In the morning, shots continued to be fired from the mob and were returned from the defenders. The mob had moved north toward William Law’s field and fired thirty‑five cannon balls. One of the Nauvoo companies advanced in an effort to prevent the enemy from entering the city. They laid a “powder plot” in the road and then hid themselves in Daniel Well’s cornfield.13 The mob spotted them and opened fire. The shots split a fence, cut down corn, and endangered the lives of the defenders. Soon the defenders were ordered to retreat.

A small band of thirty men commanded by William Anderson, who were called the “Spartan Band,” were firing on the mob with their fifteen shooters and were forced to retreat. Major William Clifford recorded in his field notes:

“They [the mob] were coming in with flying colors apparently without any obstructions except from the 30 men when suddenly, when only one & a quarter miles from the Temple, our home-made cannon (of steam boat shafts) opened upon them under the command of Captain Hiram Gates, manned by William I. Green & William Summerville. The effect was electric. They halted in their tracks and after exchanging a few shots, retreated over the brow of a commanding emenence, and camped for the night.”

Non‑Mormon Nauvoo citizen, Curtis Edwin Bolton wrote:

“We retreated into town as a last forlorn hope, threw ourselves into some log houses, determined to do or die. [The mob leader] Brockman, ordered his horses and men to move down and take possession of this valuable point. The men numbered 120. They charged gallantly down the gentle slope and then charged ungallantly back again for we were there with our repeating rifles, which would be fired 7 and 8 times without reloading.”

William Mace added: “The little band of brethren and some of the new citizens made a brave stand against the mob. Sometimes the cannon balls from the mob would be picked up and loaded into our steamboat shaft cannon and fired back at them. Ammunition was scarce with us and we were but a handful.”

Many of the Saints started to flee to cross the river. Joseph Fielding wrote:

“They hastened to the river but the citizens judged it not best to let men leave when they were so much needed, but the sick, the women and children got over as fast as they could. I went down to the bank of the river and found many of the Saints in distress. Some had left their goods and were destitute of food and clothing. Others had left their husbands in the battle. The cannons roared tremendously on both sides for several days.”

On one of these nights, Henry Grow, one of the Nauvoo defenders, heard a voice during the night distinctly say:

“Get up and get out of here in the morning.” He arose in the morning, hitched a yoke of cattle to his wagon, took only a few things and loaded up his family into the wagon. When they had moved about fifty yards from the house, a cannon ball was fired through the house causing much destruction to it. He continued on and took his family across the river.

In the morning, river boat captain Grimes ignored the mob’s threats and docked at Nauvoo to pick up passengers. Emma Smith and her family were among those who left Nauvoo on this morning. Her children included, David, (almost 2), Julia (15), Joseph III (13), and Frederick and Alexander (8). The Uncle Toby was filled with others also leaving Nauvoo. Emma was heading to Fulton, Illinois, about 150 miles upriver, where her friends William and Rosannah Marks were residing.

“The promise troubled her (Agnes) as she made it while still in the sight of Nauvoo. But as they neared St. Louis, and the city's skyline took shape ahead of them, her pledge seemed only natural and easy. Her pledge was that she was to enter this new life with William Pickett with her past for gotten and forever hidden. She agreed never to speak of her membership in the Church of the Saints, or of her marriage to a brother of the Prophet.”

All of the below stories are said to have happened on September 12, 1846:

Colonel Johnson, leader of the Nauvoo defenders, became sick and William E. Cutler took over for him with Daniel H. Wells at his side. In the morning, the enemy was more determined after receiving a few wagon loads of ammunition. They attempted to advance on Nauvoo but were forced back several times by defenders who fired upon them from behind houses. Cannon balls were being fired constantly. Major William Clifford’s field notes read:

After negotiations had passed at about 12 o’clock the mob commenced deploying to the left taking advantage of cornfields to mask their movements, with 4 pieces of artillery and about 800 men--and showed a determination to take the City by storm at all hazzards. We had to oppose them about 200 men, 130 whom were in line--the rest stationed elsewhere and 5 pieces of steam boat shafts--only 3 of which were in the action and one them disabled after the third shot.

Wandle Mace wrote, “The little band of brethren and some of the new citizens made a brave stand against the mob. Sometimes the cannon balls from the mob would be picked up and loaded into our steamboat shaft cannon and fired back at them. The defenders’ cannons would only shoot about a quarter mile. Ammunition was scarce with us and we were but a handful.” Daniel Wells agreed: “During the fight the boys would watch the cannon ball strike & run & get it & bring it to us & we would send it back.” Even some of the brave women helped to gather up these balls in their aprons. Sister Player came up to Captain Bolander, who was shooting the steamboat cannon. She presented him with a cannon ball that had fallen in her door yard. She said, “Captain, please return this ball to the anti-Mormons with my compliments.” Other sisters gathered on porches out of range of the cannons, listening to every sound of the conflict. Mary Ann Stearns Winters wrote, “The anguish and suspense of those dreadful hours can never be told in words. And I will never forget the unflinching faith and courage of that devoted group of women. They never thought of fleeing or turning away.” At 1 p.m., the mob advanced on the city. A fierce battle soon ensued, which became known as “The Battle of Nauvoo.” It lasted about seventy‑five minutes. The mob fired 42 cannon balls and the defenders fired 32. Brother Daniel H. Wells would ride on his white horse encouraging and directing the men. His courage was looked upon as a tower of strength for the men defending their homes and families. He directed a company of men who provided critical support in repelling the advancing mob. The battle centered around Winchester Street near Boscow’s store. The two forces were separated by two blocks. The mob fired a number of times into Barlow’s old barn, expecting many of the brethren to be hiding there. It was said that while Amos Davis was running through a field, he stumbled and fell on his left arm which formed a triangle with his head. As he fell, a cannon ball was said to have passed through the angle of his arm. Sadly, there were three fatalities on the side of the defenders. The first two were Captain William Anderson15 and his fifteen‑year‑old son Augustus. Captain Anderson was a leader of the “Spartan Band,” a group of riflemen. His company was advancing toward the mob when he was hit by a musketball that was shot by some members of the mob who were hiding in a house nearby. Captain Anderson died encouraging his men. About the same time, his young son Augustus Anderson was killed by a cannon ball that passed through the corner of a house and struck him down. David Norris and few other men were stationed in a house that was being battered with cannon fire. They were ordered to march double file to another house. As they were marching, the mob started to fire upon them. David Norris was hit directly in the head by a cannon ball and died instantly. He left behind a wife and five children.16 About ten others were wounded in this battle.

A few men were said to be recuperating beneath the walls of the house of an old widow, Mrs Naggle. They were surprised to see the old lady come out of her house with a broom stick and call them “cowardly dogs” for not fighting the mob. They explained that they had been ordered to fall back, but she responded, “And I order you to the front!” They soon advanced forward “considering the cannon balls a less danger than that which threatened them from the enraged and spunky old lady of the broom stick.” Soon the mob retreated to the house of a Mr. Carmichael, where they waited for wagons and returned to their camp. Apparently when the mob leader, General Brockman discovered that the cannon balls had been used up, he did not have the courage to continue the battle that day. If was reported that about twelve of the mob were wounded and one of them later died. However, the casualty report may have been false. A nonmember saw fifteen bodies of the mob in one wagon being handled as if they were dead. There were other reports of many wounded and plenty of blood was found on the battle ground. The mayor of Quincy watched the battle from the top of the temple and afterwards declared that the defenders were the bravest little band of men that ever lived. William Cutler reflected back on this battle, when such a small force repelled hundreds of the mob, “The hand of God was so visible in that battle that many that were weak & faltering have been much strengthened by it and will gather with the Saints. I did not expect that God would deliver [us] into their hands, but expected that God would save [us] out of the hands of [our] enemies and this he has done.” During this violence, a son, Joseph S. McArthur, was born to Duncan and Susan McKeen McArthur. Little Joseph died the same day.

In part of her response to Lewis’ letter written on 1/11/1847 to rent the Nauvoo Mansion, Emma writes Lewis “I formed a very agreeable acquaintance with Your brother His family while on the boat with them and would be pleased to see them again and that too under more pleasant circumstances. You will please give them my best respects. Yours Truly Emma Smith”

Unbelievable that Lewis’ brother (Hyrum or Don Carlos possibly?) were on the boat that pulled up to Nauvoo to save Emma and the kids in the middle of the “Battle of Nauvoo”..

The mob was running short on ammunition and sent to Quincy for some more. No cannons were fired by the mob. The lull in the battle gave the men time to attend to the burials of their brethren, who had fallen the day before in the Battle of Nauvoo. William Pace wrote of Brother William Anderson, “He was a noble man, a brave officer, a good man. At the grave I bade farewell to his almost heart‑broken wife.” One of the brethren put on a sheep bell and went near to the enemy camp as a spy. The mob was fooled and thought he was only a sheep. This brother observed that many in the mob camp had been wounded, including the man who had been captain of the guard when the prophet, Joseph Smith was killed. The “Spartan Band” and some sharp shooters from Captain Gait’s company harassed the mob’s wing companies and their watering places. In the evening, the defenders moved their four cannons, approached the mob’s camp, and opened fired. No shots were returned and the defenders soon returned to the city.

A committee of citizens from Quincy stepped forward and started to negotiate a settlement to end the hostilities. Andrew Johnson was the chairman of the committee. They drafted letters to Thomas S. Brockman, the commander of the posse (mob) and to Major William Clifford, the commanding officer of the Illinois volunteers in Nauvoo.

The mob fired a cannon ball into the city to let the defenders know they had some ammunition left. The Saints quickly sent the ball back to the mob. The “Spartan Band” continued to harass the mob.

In the morning, members of the Quincy Committee started to meet with both sides to negotiate a treaty. Thomas Brockman, leader of the mob, wrote an “ultimatum” to the commanding officer in Nauvoo and the Nauvoo Trustees. He stated that if the Mormons left the city in five days, all of the posse’s arrest warrants would be discarded. All arms must be surrendered. A committee of five and their families would be allowed to remain in Nauvoo until May, 1847, to dispose of property. If all these conditions were met, the posse pledged to not destroy “person or property.”

Even though these demands were unjust, Daniel H. Wells pled with the defenders to accept a treaty and no longer try to defend the city which they would eventually have to give up. Their lives were in peril and it seemed foolish to hold out much longer. William Cutler later reflected:

It was sensible [that] we must leave Nauvoo. The time has come for us to depart. God has called upon us to go and if we will not he will let the mob loose upon us to drive us out. But they will not get any glory for it but will have to suffer for their wrongs to the [Saints]. I hope the day will come when we shall not have to suffer from the Mobs as we have done.

In the morning, Wandle Mace ascended the temple to look over to Iowa. He could no longer see his family’s wagon and became very concerned. There had been a great deal of excitement on the Iowa side, in Montrose, so he feared for their safety. He was given permission to cross over the river to find his family. He wrote:

I crossed the river to Montrose and walked along down the river to where I had left my family in camp. I met my wife and son John just about to step into a skiff to cross over to Nauvoo to see what had become of me; the noise of battle, the booming of cannon had made them so anxious, they concluded they must go over and learn if I was still alive. As I approached toward them, my son saw me and joyfully exclaimed, “By George, there’s Father!” It was a great relief to my anxious wife and children to see me once more safe.

Brother Mace then went into Montrose and found crowds of people gathered, talking about the fighting which was taking place in Nauvoo.

One man standing upon a dry goods box was making a vehement speech, saying terrible things of what the Mormons were doing. He said a red flag was flying on the top of the temple, and that meant blood. He told them the Mormons had done awful things, he tried to tell all about our defenses we had made . . . there was many present who knew me, had he mentioned my name I should have stood a poor chance of escape for they were blinded by fury and excitement. I was armed with a six shooter and a bowie knife inside my buttoned up coat, had they molested me I would have defended myself to the best of my ability. . . . One man standing nearby spoke a little favorable of the Mormons was knocked down instantly. I concluded the best thing for me to do was to move off quietly, and as speedily as possible.

There were some hostilities in the morning. Major William Clifford recorded:

The enemy deployed as on the 12th and were met by the “Spartan Band” and 3rd Company of infantry commanded by Captain Gaits & his two pieces of cannon. Rifles & Musket shots flew thick--and the cannon shots were rapidly exchanged--and the mob retreated for the fourth time; finding our fortifications, which we had been constantly throwing up, were too strong for them.

Soon, both sides agreed to sign a treaty. The Saints would surrender to the mob forces. Thomas S. Brockman, leader of the mob forces, would enter and take possession of the city on the next day. All arms would be delivered to the Quincy committee and later returned after the Saints crossed the river. The mob promised that there would be no violence or property damage. The sick and helpless would be protected and treated well. The Saints would cross the river immediately. Five men, including the Nauvoo Trustees would be permitted to remain in the city to dispose of property. Hostilities would cease immediately. In the evening, in the Mormon camp west of Montrose, Iowa, William Pickett (the man who the mob posse was trying to arrest) came into the camp in disguise. He had fled Nauvoo to bring the camp news of the treaty that had been made with the mob. Pickett remained in camp and talked late into the night about the tragic events of the past several days. Isaac Chauncy Haight wrote:

Here we are exiled from the United States and without a home, dwelling in tents and wagons exposed to the inclemency of the weather. We are even like the Saints of old having no abiding city but are wanderers and pilgrims on the earth but we count the present suffering not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to his Saints

went up to the town to see what was going on there. He could not remember the man's name, and it was well for me he had forgotten it, there was many present who knew me, had he mentioned my name I should have stood a poor chance of escape for they were blinded by fury and excitement. I was armed with a six shooter and a bowie knife inside my buttoned up coat, had they molested me I would have defended myself to the best of my ability, as I thought, "I will give them the best shot in the locker," but in such a crowd of excited men they would have made short work of me. One man standing nearby spoke a little favorable of the Mormons was knocked down instantly. I concluded the best thing for me to do was to move off quietly, and as speedily as possible. I walked to the Flatboat to gather up my tools. I found them scattered over several flatboats. I finally succeeded in getting them together and took them to my wagon, and while I packed my tools away my son got the cattle and hitched them to the wagon. All this was accomplished in the shortest time possible; while I gathered up my tools, no one seemed to notice me, no one interfered. My son started the team, we drove through Montrose passing by the excited crowds, travelled about two miles from Montrose and camped under the bluffs. No one molested us and we returned our thanks to God our Father for his protecting care in preserving us from the violence of the excited mob men.

A short time after we camped and a little while after dark, Brother William Pickett, reached our camp in a disguise. He had fled from Nauvoo bringing us the news, that the trustees of the Church had made a treaty with the mob, for the surrender of the city and its immediate evacuation by the remnant of the Saints. This treaty was made the same day I left Nauvoo, September 16th, 1846. Brother Pickett remained with us all night; we made him a bed in our tent. We conversed very late into the night upon our situation.

On Sunday evening a meeting of the peaceably inclined appointed a committee of one hundred to visit the scene of hostilities and secure peace "on the basis of a removal of the Mormons." The negotiations of this committee began on the following Tuesday, and were continued, at times with apparent hopelessness of success, until Wednesday evening, when terms of peace were finally signed. It required the utmost effort of the Quincy committee to induce the anti-Mormon force to delay an assault on the city, which would have meant conflagration and massacre.

“Why did Carlin, the special constable, and Brockman, the commander of the posse, not take the body of William Pickett, and make him their prisoner? Why did they, on the contrary, sign a treaty requiring him to take his body away from the city, out of their reach? Was this performing "legal duties" after the "issue was fairly formed?" Said the leaders and lawyers already mentioned.” ~ ELDER JOHN S. FULLMER, 1855

Interesting that [15]00-[2]000 = 17. You have to ask is 116 just another way of saying “17”? Worth considering.

Throughout the night and during the morning, the Saints were fleeing across the river before the mob was to take possession of the city in the afternoon. Even many of the non‑Mormon citizens left, especially those who participated in the battle. They had no confidence that the terms of the treaty would be upheld by the mob. Governor Ford’s official observer, Mason Brayman, reported:

In every part of the city scenes of destitution, misery and woe met the eye. Families were hurrying away from their homes, without a shelter, without means of conveyance, without tents, money, or a day's provision, with as much of their household stuff as they could carry in their hands. Sick men and women were carried upon their beds, weary mothers with helpless babes dying in their arms hurried away ‑‑ all fleeing, they scarcely knew or cared whither, so it was from their enemies, whom they feared more than the waves of the Mississippi, or the heat and hunger and fingering life and dreaded death of the prairies on which they were about to be cast. The ferry boats were crowded, and the river bank was lined with anxious fugitives, sadly awaiting their turn to pass over and take up their solitary march to the wilderness.

The formal treaty was signed during the morning and at about 3 p.m., the mob forces numbering between 1500‑2000 marched into the city yelling, hooting, and howling. Thomas Bullock arose from his sickbed and watched them march along Mulholland Street. He recorded:

I never heard [such howling] from men, or even the wild savages of the forest . . . terror and dismay surely for once overcame the sick, the poor women and children . . . such an awful and infuriated noise I never again heard. . . . We expected that an indiscriminate massacre was commencing. I, with others who were sick, was carried into the tall weeds and woods, while all who could, hid themselves; many crossed the river, leaving everything behind.

Daniel H. Wells reported: “As the mob came in, we left 2 blocks in advance. We met many of the Saints on this side of the river in distress & it drew tears from the eyes of some of the mob.” They proceeded to the temple, received the keys from the leader of the Quincy Committee, marched around the temple, and then camped on a field on Parley Street. Thomas Bullock wrote: “When they encamped, some speeches were made and the men yelled and screamed like Savages.”

The mob ignored the terms of the treaty and soon sent a company to search the wagons that were on the bank of the river waiting to cross. They took all the guns that they could find. An elderly Brother John Stiles was forced to the river at the point of a bayonet and baptized face down in the name of Tom Sharp, a leader of the mob and editor of the Warsaw Signal. They entered the homes of Nauvoo Trustees, John S. Fullmer and Joseph L. Heywood, and seized anything that looked like arms or ammunition. As they made this search, they threatened the families. They also defiled the temple with drunkenness, gambling and filthy songs. Joseph Fielding wrote with sadness regarding the desecration of the temple: “They rendezvoused in the [Nauvoo] temple. We had guarded it by night and day, a long time feeling unwilling to leave it in their hands, but they now had it to themselves. They even preached in it and cursed the Saints, but did no great damage to it, thinking it would add to the value of their property.” Benjamin Ashby recalled: “At night we could hear the sound of the bell and the bass drum from the tower of the temple where the mob were carousing after banishing from their pleasant homes, innocent men, women and children to perish in the wilderness among tribes of savage Indians.”

“Emma Smith and her family arrived in Fulton, about 150 miles upriver from Nauvoo. She found temporary lodging in the city. Abbey Rice commented, “I like her appearance very well.”

Thomas Brockman, leader of the mob, ordered the expulsion from the state of all the non‑Mormons who had taken part in defending the city with the Mormons. This was a clear violation of the treaty. More than one half of the new citizens were forced from their homes.

In the morning, a band of thirty men armed with guns and bayonets marched by the house where Thomas Bullock was staying. The captain called the group to halt and he demanded that the owners of the wagons come out of the house. Brother Bullock and his family were very sick. He was taken from his bed and led outside supported by his sister‑in‑law. The captain pointed a sword at his throat and four others pointed their guns at his chest. The captain declared, “If you are not off from here in twenty minutes, my orders are to shoot you.” Thomas Bullock replied: “Shoot away, for you will only send me to Heaven a few hours quicker, for you see I am not for this world many hours longer.” The captain then told him, “If you will renounce Mormonism you may stay here and we will protect you.” To this Brother Bullock replied, “This is not my house, yonder is my house (pointing to it) which I built and paid for, with the gold that I earned in England. I never committed the least crime in Illinois, but I am a Mormon, and if I live, I shall follow the twelve.” “Then,” said the captain, “I am sorry to see you and your sick family, but if you are not gone when I return in half an hour, my orders are to kill you and every Mormon in the place.” Thomas Bullock, with the help of his brother‑in‑law, George Wardle, drove the wagon down to the ferry. They were searched five times for firearms and took a gun which was never returned. While on the bank of the river, Brother Bullock crawled over to bid good‑bye to a sister heading for St. Louis. One of the mob cried out, “Look, look, there’s a skeleton bidding Death good bye!” John William Dutson had concealed some bullets in a small chest that was locked. He was ordered to unlock the chest to be searched. Brother Dutson threw them the key and said that he did not want to unlock it for them, but they could help themselves. They concluded that he had nothing to hide and moved on. The mob marched through the temple, up to the top of the tower. They rang the temple bell and shouted. Thomas Bullock wrote:

Other detached bodies were roving thro the city, searching for arms, and driving the Saints from their homes, bursting open trunks, chests, tearing up floors, appropriating to themselves such things as they saw fit. A Mob preacher ascended to the top of the Tower and standing outside proclaimed with a loud voice “Peace, Peace, Peace to all the Inhabitants of the Earth, now the Mormons are driven.”

“It was a cold, winter, with much snow, but we did not suffer. We children attended the local school, and became acquainted with some of the young people of our ages, with whom we enjoyed some good social times. Among these acquaintances, I recall, one leading family, by the name of Phelps, the head of which kept a hotel there.”

The Quincy Committee gave a report of their negotiations for the surrender of the city at a public meeting in Quincy. The mob held a court martial at the temple for some of the prominent new citizens of Nauvoo. They were ordered to all cross the river immediately. A correspondent for the Burlington Hawkeye, in Iowa, visited Nauvoo and reported his experience in the newspaper. “We proceeded to the Mansion House, where we met with a small detachment of soldiers and a number of strangers. From thence we went to the Temple.” There he observed soldiers sleeping in the seats of the pulpits. “On every hand lay scattered about in beautiful confusion, muskets, swords, cannon balls, and terrible missiles of death. Verily thought I, how are the holy places desecrated!” He left the temple and wandered through the city streets. “All was stilled and hushed as the charnel house. Not a human being was seen. Houses appeared suddenly deserted, as though the inmates had precipitately fled from a pestilence or the burning of a volcano. Some had windows open and the flowers blooming on the casements.” As he approached the Mansion House, he met a woman holding a baby who asked him if he was a member of the Quincy Committee. He replied that he was a stranger. He asked her where her friends were. She responded: “I have none‑‑not one. The soldiers say I must leave in two hours. The child is sick and my other is a cripple.” She only had enough flour for one dinner. The correspondent crossed the river over to Montrose. He wrote, “I stopped at the door of one tent, arrested by the subdued sobs of a young mother, whose heart was broken with grief. By her side lay her infant, a corpse. She had neither friend or relative to bury her child, nor a mouthful of food to eat.”

In the evening, William Green and three others crossed back over to Nauvoo after ferrying some of their possessions over to Montrose earlier during the day. They were confronted by a company of thirty men who asked if they were Mormons. They replied, “Yes.” The men advanced and were ordered to take aim with there muskets at the unarmed men. The word, “Halt” was heard. William Green tried to explain why they were there. The soldiers conferred amongst themselves and one suggested that the Mormons be thrown in the river. They called the ferry operator over who vouched for the men and chastised the soldiers for driving them out of the city and also for treating them like dogs. The brethren were taken prisoner and locked up in a room for the night.

Was this reporter sent by William Pickett who was a Foreman at a Newspaper called The Republican ?

Bishop Newel K. Whitney, in Nauvoo on business with the Trustees, was stopped by an anti‑Mormon posse. They demanded to know his name, and asked if he was Mormon or anti‑Mormon. He gave them his name and in order to continue his mission, stated he was anti‑Mormon. They wrote down his name and then left for the temple. Bishop Whitney believed some trouble was brewing and immediately left for Iowa.

Sep 22 (March 25th + 911 days = September 22) March 25th was New Years Day until 1752.

Thomas Gregg, a non-Mormon also visited Nauvoo on this day. He published a description in the Missouri Republican.

“I took a stroll through a portion of the now deserted streets, and for miles, I may safely say, I passed nothing but tenantless houses; some of them closed and barred, and others with doors wide open, as if left in haste. All along the city, for miles, wherever I went, might be seen on the doors, or on the walls, some notice that the tenement was for sale, or for rent. During my stay I took several occasions to look at the city and surrounding country from the top of the Temple. It is, indeed, a grand and imposing scene, and presents the most magnificent view to be found any where on the banks of the Mississippi. . . . I took occasion to ascertain as near as possible the number of houses in the city. From my position on the Temple, I could count a large portion of the city; and from actual count, and estimate based upon count, I think there are at least two thousand houses in the city proper, and in the suburbs five hundred more -- making two thousand five hundred houses. About one-half of these are mere shanties, built some of logs, some of poles plastered over, and some framed. Of the remaining portion -- say twelve hundred houses -- all are tolerably fit residences, and one-half are good brick or frame houses. There are probably five hundred brick houses in the city, most of which are good buildings, and some are elegant and handsomely finished residences, such as would adorn any city.”

He further estimated that only one in twelve houses still had tenants, some Mormons, some new citizens, and some anti-Mormons. He also mentioned “the ceremony of dipping” when Mormons were forced across the river.

J.W. Brattle, a leader in the mob seized a man named Silas Condiff and brought him to the river. Thomas Bullock wrote:

When Brattle marched in with Condiff and plunged him in the Water saying, “I baptize you in the name of Jo Smith.” When Condiff arose he pulled Brattle to the bottom of the River, both went out amidst the shouts and laughter of the remainder of the crew. The mob also passed resolutions that no Mormon should be allowed to recross the River, to transact any business in the City. ~ Saints in the Wilderness David R Crockett

Notice when you add up every single written out number - the total is 83 (the number believed to be associated with that of “fake murder”). Honestly what are the chances?! I outlined these numbers in Orange in the image.

Garden Grove, Iowa: Almon W. Babbitt, one of the Nauvoo Trustees, arrived at Garden Grove on his way to Winter Quarters. He told the Saints about the Battle of Nauvoo and the surrender of the city to the mob.

Poor Camp, near Montrose, Iowa: Distressing news arrived that the mob proclaimed no Mormon would be allowed to cross back over the river to sell property. They vowed that no Mormon in the camp would get a cent for the property left behind. This news caused a great deal of concern and some murmuring among the destitute Saints. ~Saints in wilderness David R Crockett

Again, on OCTober (8), third (3) = 83, when you add up all “written numbers” in this article you get 83 - the purported number of “fake or pretend murder”. This newspaper is also contemporary evidence to the Battle of Nauvoo having started on 9/11/1846.

“Mary Fielding Smith, the widow of Hyrum Smith, and her sister, also a widow of Hyrum, Mercy Fielding Thompson, donated eighteen dollars for the company’s benefit. Even though these devoted sisters suffered from lack of food and shelter, they stepped forward to help those even less fortunate than themselves. Mary’s seven‑year‑old son, Joseph F. Smith, later the sixth president of the Church, was with his mother in this destitute camp.”

During the morning, a message had been sent over the river to the Nauvoo Trustees telling them that Captain Allen was about to leave with a company of the poor. In the afternoon, provisions were brought to the camp from the Trustees. Items such as clothing, shoes, molasses, salt, and pork were distributed throughout the camp. Afterwards, Orville M. Allen started west toward Winter Quarters with a company of 157 Saints in 28 wagons.17

John M. Bernhisel wrote a letter to Brigham Young while on the steamboat, Fortune. He was on the way to visit towns to seek food and clothing for the destitute Saints. He reported that there were only about 8‑10 non‑resident members of the mob left in Nauvoo. However, they still did not permit any of the brethren to enter the city. A mob meeting was scheduled to be held the following week in Carthage. He felt that the mob would decide to withdraw from the city because public opinion was against them all over the country. He also wrote:

There is still quite a number of our people encamped along the shore for about two miles above Montrose, some have tents, some have quilts or blankets put up for a shelter, some lodge in wagons, and some few have nothing but a bowery made of brush. The health of the people is better than it has been, but still there is considerable sickness among them, but the most of it is chills and fever.

One of the Nauvoo Trustees, Joseph “Heywood wrote a letter to Brigham Young from what he called, “Hell Town, formerly Nauvoo.” He wrote about his concern for the graves of Joseph and Hyrum Smith. The location of the graves was a carefully guarded secret. Brother Heywood believed that a Mr. Van Tuyl, who was Emma Smith’s renter, had learned the location of the graves from Emma. Brother Heywood asked for Brigham Young’s permission to remove the bodies to another location.”

Luman Shurtliff, leader of the relief team from Garden Grove, arrived at Montrose. He wrote:

As I came onto the highland, in sight of the river and once again saw our lovely city, Nauvoo, I could not help weeping aloud with joy. Not that I wished my family living in Nauvoo, no, but thankful that my life was spared to me that I might again behold the city of the prophets. I turned from Montrose up the river. I came to the camp of the poor, sick and persecuted Saints. Many places where there had been camps were now desolate and without inhabitants. In others, a ragged blanket or quilt laid over a few sticks or brush comprised all the house a whole family owned on earth. Among the occupants lay stretched on the ground either sick or dying, others perhaps a little better off had a few boards laid up on something and had more sick than well. Others not well ones, took care of the sick. While looking about among these poor helpless people, I was not a little surprised to hear them relate the blessings of God in the deliverance from disease, death and starvation.

Brother Shurtliff spent the first day in the camp learning of their circumstances and trying to figure out who should be taken with his company. He decided to take the “poorest of the poor and the sickest of the sick.”

Luman Shurtliff crossed over the river and went into Nauvoo. He later wrote:

I crossed the river into Nauvoo, walked up through the thickest part of town, saw but few inhabitants. I went to the temple and took a view of the beautiful homes of the Saints, but are now a desolation. From here I walked to my former place of residence, viewing the premises, shed a few tears over the grave of the partner of my youth and mother of all my children, and bore my testimony that she was a good woman and a kind wife and mother. From here I walked east on Main Street to the east part of the city where the last battle had been fought and viewed the destruction of the mobs and the desolate, deserted village.

What is “Non Mormon” William Pickett doing at Winter Quaters - delivering letters back and forth to Nauvoo? Remember he is a “Newspaper” guy and a “Lawyer”. He is clearly not a non-Mormon and he is clearly disguised as a guy named William Pickett..

Orville M. Allen’s Poor Camp Company: The company met William Pickett, who was returning to Nauvoo with letters. He had left Winter Quarters one week earlier. He told Thomas Bullock that Elder Willard Richards was anxiously asking about him. The camp had heard about Brother Bullock’s long illness. Later, the company met three other wagons from Mount Pisgah, heading to the Mississippi. The Allen company pressed on, crossing an immense prairie which had been burned. After eighteen miles, they camped by moonlight in some woods.

Why are we following Gov Boggs? You’ll see. It appears he may have been in cahoots with some saints?

Sacramento, California: Thomas and Elizabeth Rhoads and family arrived in Sacramento. They were the first known Mormon pioneers to migrate overland to California. They traveled in a wagon train led by former Missouri Governor, Lilburn Boggs.

Governor Thomas Ford arrived with two hundred troops in order to restore the peace in Nauvoo (a few weeks too late.) The new non‑Mormon citizens (who were being called “Jack‑Mormons”) had pled with Governor Ford to use his influence to allow them to return to their homes and retake their possessions. When the anti‑Mormons heard that the governor was on the way, they made threats that they would toss both the Jack‑Mormons and the Governor across the river. This was an idle threat. The troops arrived and the Jack‑Mormons returned to their homes. Governor Ford later wrote, “Very much to my astonishment I encountered a hostility and bitterness of feeling from the Anti-Mormons which was truly surprising and unlooked for.” He reported that the Anti-Mormon just couldn’t believe anyone would come into their county to see that the laws were executed there, that their judgments had been clouded by mob rule for so long.

Luman Shurtliff’s company loaded up and started heading west. His teamsters took about sixty of the poor and sick. He wrote:

All the provisions put together would have made only one good meal and we were now about to start . . . with this poor sick company on a journey of 170 miles through an uncivilized and mostly uninhabited wilderness. I felt like crying, ‘O, God, help us’ as we left. I looked back and saw a few weeping Saints left behind; how to live through the winter I knew not, but God knew. The first night 9 in camp our souls actually rejoiced like the children of Israel after their deliverance from the Egyptians

Governor Ford and his two hundred troops were still in Nauvoo, allowing the “Jack‑Mormons” to return to their homes. The mob held a meeting in Carthage and passed resolutions that as soon as the State troops left, the “Jacks” would again be expelled ‘less tenderly than before.’ These resolutions were published in the Warsaw Signal and Quincy Whig.

John M. Bernhisel returned to Nauvoo after traveling to many cities in Illinois seeking for relief for the Saints who had been driven from the city. He had been frustrated because many expressed sympathy for the treatment that the Mormons had received, but were still too prejudiced against them to provide relief. Nevertheless, he was able to collect about $100. He reported to Brigham Young, “Brother Heywood and I visited the different encampments . . . for the purpose of distributing to the most destitute, and we found some very destitute indeed, and quite a number afflicted with chills and fever. The whole number of families now encamped over the river probably does not exceed twenty; but they must all be removed before the cold weather set in.”

Nauvoo, Illinois: The mob held a meeting at which they demanded that the “Jack‑Mormons” sell out their property to them at a certain price or they would be expelled anyway.

On the way back to Winter Quarters: John D. Lee and his small company continued their journey back toward Winter Quarters, bringing with them the pay of the battalion. They were having great difficulty traveling because of poor mules. As they were journeying this day, they came across five mules with ropes. “This was the ram caught in the thicket as 3 of our mules were about past traveling, the 5 just made a change all around which when we had done we thanked the Lord for this peculiar manifestation of his good will & went on our way rejoicing.”

Question: were these military mules placed in the right place at the right time to keep the operation going?

The Nauvoo Trustees wrote a letter to Brigham Young reporting the arrival of Governor Ford and his troops to the city. The Trustees had not been having any success selling the Church property. “We wish to sell and wind up our business and leave this country; we believe there are some of the worst characters in and about Nauvoo.” They reported that the Seventies’ library was packed up as well as the stereotype plates for the Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants. They explained why Almon W. Babbitt had sent some of the rescue teams back to Winter Quarters. They felt that the remaining poor could better be taken care of by the Trustees. William Pickett observed that Governor Ford went on a spree during the evening with the mob. First, he attended a supper given by the mob leaders to welcome him to the city. “They are his daily companions, and drinking with them from groggery to groggery is his only occupation at present.” The “Jack‑Mormons” held a meeting to consider the mob’s proposition to buy out their Nauvoo property. It was resolved that they would keep their property, even at the risk of being driven from the city.

Ten ladies met with Governor Ford in his camp. They said they were the committee of the “Anti‑Mormon ladies of Hancock County.” They delivered a package containing a petticoat. The officers of the Governor’s troops met in the temple and appointed a committee to draft resolutions to be published which would declare that these ladies did not represent any decent portion of the community, but were employed by “cowardly ruffians.” They also resolved to carry the petticoat out of the camp and burn it to ashes.

Petticoat: a woman's light, loose undergarment hanging from the shoulders or the waist, worn under a skirt or dress.

What is really being suggested here?

Nauvoo, Illinois: Governor Thomas Ford left Nauvoo, but kept forty men at the city to keep the peace. He did not attempt to arrest any of the mob for their lawless actions. He wrote:

We did not think it worth while to arrest any one implicated in previous riots knowing as we did, that, as the State could not change the trial to any other county, no one could be convicted in Hancock. In fact the Anti-Mormons made their boats, that as they are now in the entire possession of the juries and the civil officers of the county, no jury can be obtained there to convict them. In this respect the administration of justice in that county is yet fully as bad as it ever was under the domination of the Mormons.

A correspondent at Fort Leavenworth wrote to Horace Greeley, editor of the New York Tribune. He wrote:

You may depend upon it, Mr. Greeley, these poor creatures (the Latter‑day Saints) have been greatly wronged, and in nothing more than the successful robbery which slander has made of their good name. . . . I had a highly respectable man in my quarters the other day who was at Nauvoo during the final sack of that pretty little town, and who had acquaintances among the leaders of the mob, and tells me that none of them even pretended to believe the charges against the Mormons and said their own beating and robbing and killing, and burning homes, was only because “there was no other way of clearing them out.”

Commenting on the Mormon Battalion, he wrote, “I did not see a finer body, individually or collectively; and their deportment was the subject of universal admirations.” The Times condemned the actions of the mob and criticized the lack of action by Governor Ford. “The executive of Illinois was too cowardly or too indolent, or thought himself too politic to arrest the outrage.”

Remember that John C Bidamon bought Sydney Rigdons home while Lewis bought Brigham Young’s home.

The more I read this letter, the more it seems to be a fabrication and part of a made up story. Bidamon and Emma both leave Nauvoo within 10 days of each other and both come back to Nauvoo within 10 days of each other. It seems to me that they are creating a history here. Also compare this story (above) to the 1888 Deseret news story that Bidamon tells about what was happening during this time.

The first death is of a 3 year old boy who dies on August 11, 1847 - the 223rd day of the year. The first birth in the valley was on September 20, (92) 1847 but died on March 22, (322) 1848.

I think it’s worth noting that Joseph III made this known in his Memoirs and it may be a coded message like the other 116’s/911’s we see throughout this story. Let’s remember the “Lieutenant General Joseph Smith Junior” and how this minister and his brother may have been under Joseph/Bidamons top secret command etc. This would also explain why Joseph III was openly praised and loved by these two Methodist ministers.

Remember when there is a 116 or 119 or any variation like 6/11 or 911 etc - you should not believe it. Joseph and Emma were already married therefore this marriage would not be real.

I’ve seen multiple books refer to Lewis as “Louis”. For instance one image is from Nauvoo: The City of Joseph, page 126.

“Emma keeps a case containing Joseph’s razor, strap, combs, brushes, jars for selves, and a pair of ‘pulls’ for boots.” The case remained throughout their marriage on a dresser in Lewis and Emma’s bedroom.

Joseph Smith III described Lewis as "a fine looking man, six feet tall with high forehead and splendid bearing."

Joseph, who recounts when he was 15, found his stepfather "a man of strong, likes, and dislikes, passionate, easily moved to anger. Joseph III recalled of his stepfather "While his moral character might not be considered to be of the highest quality, he did possess a certain pride of manhood, a deeply rooted dislike of being in debt, or under obligation to anyone, and, so far as the ordinary transactions of life are concerned, a desire to deal honorably with his fellow men. There was much in the character of the man that called forth admiration. His house was open to all his friends, and they came and went without reproach and at their own convenience. There was also always room at the table for any who might be present when the meal was ready and his uniform sociability made everybody welcome. In some ways he made an excellent landlord, but was fortunate in always having a number of 'human sponges' harboring about the place, feeding off his hospitality, and rendering little in exchange therefore. He was not a good judge of human character, and was easily imposed upon. He had grown up with but little schooling, and had been a hard and conscientious worker.

Doesn’t it seem strange that a man named William Pickett is allowing his wife to name his boy “Horatio”? Now, a man named Don Carlos naming his son that is not strange..

Henry Lewis sailed up the Mississippi in July of 1848 and commented that Emma, “who, though married to a man, by the name of Bidderman… Is always called the Widow Smith.”

With the Temple gone - which was the largest draw of visitors/tourists this would be s benefit to Bidamon not to have so many visitors that knew Joseph?

Lyman Wight and George Miller were both Excommunicated Dec 3, 1848: •Dec 3 is the day that marks 29 days left in the year. •December 3 is what you get when you take September 11th + 83 days •December 3 is March 25 (Old New Years Day) minus 3 months 22 days.

I’ll also note that he married Harriet Benton in Henrietta on January 5, 1823: Jan 5 = March 25 (old new years) + 9 months 11 days

Porter Rockwell, and about eighteen others were called “to California bay, on a mission”. He left spring of 1849.

Lewis C Bidamon would leave for the same area roughly less than 3 months later

The first Sherriff of Hangtown(Ziba Peterson AKA Richard Peterson) that Lewis Bidamon and Brother John replace as Sherriff and Sherriff Deputy in 1849 was one of the very first 20 converts to Mormonism and given a mission call by Joseph to "preach to the Lamanites" - well this man Ziba Peterson ends up dying as Sherriff in Hangtown.

“Emma and Lewis have been married about 18 months when he left for California. He would be gone slightly over a year.” ~ Mormon enigma, page 252.

“He (Lewis) and his brother crossed the Mississippi in late April 1849 and joined a wagon train of 49ers heading to California. May 4 Lewis wrote to Emma.”

Lewis purchases supplies for the trek on May 1st 1849.

Zeba Peterson was the original Sheriff of Hangtown - the man who hung 4 criminals. It was he who died “of unknown causes” in 1849 and Lewis Crum Bidamons brother “John” ended up replacing him as Sherrif and Lewis was his brothers deputy.

Caleb Baldwin was born on 9/2 and dies on 6/11. He is a military man..

I just thought this was an interesting date that equals 119 to ascend a biblical named mountain..
